Deportation Poem by Sophonie Asia Joseph

Deportation

All mommy's and daddy's work for nothing
brought you here to make you something

Make them proud
and hold their head in a crowd

Twenty some years a waste
Couldn't find a lawyer to view your case

Was not raised there
it just doesen't't seem fair

Going back
with only a sack

All your money and taxes
they cant fax it

Treated you as a criminal
gave you the minimal

Left behind a baby
and no real lady

Your one and only son
but you signed so it is done

Can't really cry
cause I didn't get the chance to say bye

But I will miss you
and I'm sure you'll miss me too.
