Denouement Poem by Nalini Jyotsana Chaturvedi

Denouement

The process is slow
It takes eons to show
The healed scars
Broken promises of stars

You have left a sour taste
In the name of relation so chaste
I will never be able to love
Anyone else any more

But I did love you
And enjoyed it through and through
Like savouring your favourite dish
Or enjoying walk in the dew.

It was enthralling to be in love
I did feel the rush so lush
How my heart leapt with joy
Like, it was a brand new crush

But Its slowly seeping away
from the cracks in my heart
Subtle detachment takes it's place
As I remember the brutal past.

In the end
I am a wiser girl
I learnt something
So it was worth
All the hurts
