Demons Dwell Within Poem by Tim Vallie

Demons Dwell Within

They say that demons lurk in shadow
I say they’re hiding in plain sight
Why should evil lay so low
Why must it dwell in dark of night
We like to think our demons fear
Exposure to light of day
But evil is ever present, always near
In the things we do and say
Demons dwell within us all
And we walk ‘neath light of sun
They simply wait for us to fall
Awaiting any chance, only needing one
Demons dwell within the mind
They wait to break the soul
And to this most of us are blind
Thinking we are in control
