Democracy Poem by djemoi talbi

Democracy

A controversial word for our busy mind
It’s the freedom to choose
The right to break the chain or keep it tied
It’s not a thing you need to see
It’s a thing you feel even if you’re blind

You don’t need a pretentious liar to teach you your rights
… just look inside
Democracy can not be imported
It should be raised inside
My democracy should not be limited to speech
Like the barking of a dog
…or thing of this kind

If speech is the top of your freedom
Sorry… you’re not of the human kind
It, simply, could be summed up in
The right to practise your rights of all kind
It doesn’t need somebody's approval
And refuses to wait for him just to be signed
