Delusional Relationship Poem by Suzanna C Chevalier

Delusional Relationship

You were trying to find the bad,
and I was trying to find the good,
I was hoping maybe you were stable,
You said I should…
“Do this to make you happy,
accuse me of this to justify your right.
Right because you were guilty of doing the things
you accused me of doing in the deep of the night.
Right in your delusion of what you thought I was,
but in reality you never knew, and you never will just because.
For the fantasy of me is what you really knew.
Be done with this Delusional Relationship and bury it like a dead corpse,
you can’t dig up a dead relationship filled with regret and remorse.
The relationship was never really alive, so why even try to justify?
There was never a chance from the start, all your manipulative
games kept us apart.
