Delusion Poem by Alex McCullough

Delusion

Rating: 4.0

In my mind,
An unsettled thought drifts back and forth,
Foretelling Me,
That it wishes to save me from the danger your spell carries.
It may just be a rumor,
Trying to con me into a mistake,
Can I keep on listening to its stories,
Or should I just let it fade away into ignorance,
It's such a hard choice to make,
I believe in your love always,
But this voice that calls out to me,
Seems to speak something I cannot afford to ignore.
Taking deceit and reality,
Like two colors unknown to the world,
And blending them together,
In the pools of my heart,
So I can't tell which is more valuable
It confuses me so much that my head wants to split.
I just don't know,
Which morning to face,
The one with you waiting for me,
Or the one where everything shall be okay,
They both are something that I want to face in the end,
But since I can't have both,
I pray that my soul heads for the best one in the end.
