Delirium Poem by Sandra Feldman

Delirium

When the dangerously absurd strikes,
Unimaginable chaos lies ahead,
Politically or otherwise,
Nothing, safety ties,
Part of our disastrous melting times,
Where there is no place to go or hide,
As insanity takes hold of human pride,
Delirium is and has always been,
A very fatal and highly uncivilized ride.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Russia, Putin in Syria now. Silence surrounds the highest authorities in this land. The consequences may be fatal for us and the world.
Seems we are always facing some kind of madness. This one is very serious. Silence prevail in our fickle and weak surroundings.
Denouncing this may not help, but at least it was said!

Yeats put it memorably back in 1920: THE BEST LACK ALL CONVICTION, WHILE THE WORST / ARE FULL OF PASSIONATE INTENSITY. Those of us who embody the better angels have to assert a passionate intensity to make what's right prevail. Yours is the necessary poem which does this. Its resonance fans out into the world and lowers the temperature of the madness. Instead of fanning flames and mire heat, it cools things and minds with their uncontrolled hot-tempered thoughts.

The world is full of ridiculously dangerous leaders, doing ridiculously dangerous things. And most just sit back and ignore. A voice may be small and singular but at least it can be heard and perhaps spark more voices until voices turn to action
