Delectable Melon … 1010-2k12

Rating: 5.0

wearing silky serrated green
or glow smooth hugging sheen

Lovingly pick with much care
From the colorful village fair

Full bodied or suitably plump
longish or with many a bump

Caress and indulgingly paw
Till its time to go for the thaw

Slowly lay on a spread out sheet
wonder start at the head or feet

with flair and a finesse splice
melon is bared to throw of dice

willing to want of fervent eye
hunger's eager longing sigh

pink inside flashes to delight
carmine to a breathless sight

earnest and awaiting a feast
keenly sink in to luscious meat

melon resigned to silently admit
and to an ingress gladly commit

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Mid to late summer is the time people in the subcontinent buy melons to ward off dehydration and enjoy its fleshy delicate meaty morsels. A treat indeed… :)

From describing a glowing melon to committing gladly to ingress, the composition itself is very 'delectable'. It's creating something noteworthy out of ordinary....very well-written
