Delayed Gratification Poem by Joseph Karimoni

Delayed Gratification

Life is unfair,
So is love
And so is all.
Delayed love is not,
Denied love and so,
Granted love is not,
Guaranteed love and so,
Breathe easy
Let thy face be no pale
It hurts, I know
I am sorry, you know
For delaying gratification,
mea máxima culpa;
Thence,
Gratification aint denied
In the cold light of day
Shall it come into your own
For it’s you I dearly treasure
In the village of blind
The one-eyed man will be King
