Defendant To Jury - Poem by Ananta Madhavan

I am adduced
as argument
in proof of life's
absurdity.

Do you have cause,
I ask of you,
To press a charge
So darn'd absurd?

When all of you
must be aware,
my reasoned plea
Could be absurd?

Verdict:
NOT ABSURD.

Poet's Notes about The Poem

This was provoked by the controversy about the theatre of the absurd.
