Defeated Civilization Undefeated Spirits The American Indian Poem by Guy Dimitri Jagodinski

Defeated Civilization Undefeated Spirits The American Indian

Invaded by plundering unjust conquerors
Swathing a path of blood with false righteousness
Destroying the birth rights of the American Indians
Causing the extinction of untold generations
Defeating tribal cultures
A victory that cannot be claimed
For the prophecies of the wise elders were foretold
Treated as savages and dogs
Caged beneath bureaucracy
Hidden by a silent gate around reservations of hell
The Spirit is undefeated and strong
Patiently waiting for the time to come
Unity evolves among tribes
Cleansing and healing begin
False prophets revealed in the clans
Rebirth of the Nations under God's plan
The conquerors vanish
The buffalo return to the golden fields
The corn grows freely
The Eagle flies high
The Bear reigns
The wolves howl in joy
And the mighty warriors grow strong
The woman sing and dance
The children play
The Spirit's love is alive and well
Peace reclaims the land

A fine poem and a nice vision! I hope it comes true!
