Defeat Anger Poem by David Beckham

Defeat Anger

Rating: 5.0

Anger bestowed upon self
Is weight upon soul
If you cannot walk with rocks tied onto your feet
Why then would you put so much weight onto your soul

It hurts inside, and you know it
It burns inside, and you feel it
But you not listening to your reasoning
Nor paying attention to your past

Let go, would be easy
But you hold on, like its priceless
If there is anyone loosing
That person would be you

Common, enjoy the freedom
And see the people smiling
If the eye, a window to the soul
Then anger, a veil over the eyes

Get those rocks off your feet
Lift up those veil off your eyes
Let your true self reveal
The beauty you hold inside

‘If you cannot walk with rocks tied onto your feet Why then would you put so much weight onto your soul’ ~ Yeah burden laden soul may misguide you = mistake and it is perpetual ‘Get those rocks off your feet Lift up those veil off your eyes’ ~ Clarity of thought …is obscured by anger …excellent poetry you’ve distilled out from your feeling heart and enjoying… thanks for sharing Regards Ms. Nivedita UK 10/10 .

anger, and the inability to forgive, are chains we place on our own hearts... well written poem!

David: Cannot read without the analytic eye of the poetry teacher. Yet it did come out with merits to commend it. Try mine - Anger's Friend Adeline

Anger is an 'arch enemy' to the human soul. One must defeat anger, or he will be defeated by it. Serious advice. A great poem with depths of meaning.10+ Please. continue to share your wonderful gift.

Mr. Beckham: This is good. I like it. Anger seizes the mind though. One cannot let go of it, because it is the one that has hold. And that is when it can seethe. It is a circle that is difficult (some say impossible) to break. Thank you for providing this thought-provoking piece. -G
