Deep Bond Poem by Alex McCullough

Deep Bond

My head hung with regrets,
Rose up with the new morning,
As I searched for those footsteps of yours,
Which rippled me inside.
The feelings deep within,
All sweeled up as they rushed forward,
Reaching out for your everdistant shadow,
But only fell into the memories we once held.
The tears from then,
Continue to fall even now,
As the vast pool they have formed,
Only echoes your name.
It's grown so dark,
While I've fallen so far within myself,
That I can't tell which way is towards your light.
Where did we lose them,
The essense of ourselves,
Because as I look in the photos left behind,
It's feels as if they're calling out to us.
In my mind,
I'm still trying to understand,
Those words you spoke to me on that day,
As I know you are with our past.
Why did the cold moon,
Shining brighter than any star,
Descend upon our world,
As the light that followed it,
Showed us our true selves!
The masks we wore back then,
Broke from the the cries we yelled out,
As the beasts inside us,
Awoke with desires to stir up something new.
I can only keep running forward,
Despite how many tears are left in my wake,
As I know I have to be by your side,
So we can face our real selfs together,
And actually look up at the same sky once again.
