Death Waits Poem by Kathryn Kubacki

Death Waits

Silent night
Luminous stare
Watchful eyes
Wiry hair

Everlasting detection
Decided fate
In the shadows, she lies in wait
For the time to come
Open the gate

Silent night
Luminous stare
Watchful eyes
Wiry hair

Hidden in the shadows
Watchful eye
Observing silently
Until we die

Out of the shadows
Onto the land
You try to run
She grabs your hand

Silent night
Luminous stare
Watchful eyes
Wiry hair

Beckons you with a blank stare
Yet somehow so intense it is hard to bear
Grasping your hand, into the night
As she leads you slowly
Into the light
