Death The Friend Of Man Poem by Seun Bewaji

Death The Friend Of Man

Death an uninvited guest
The most loathing visitor
Mysterious is your work
Merciless is your deed

Your thought rends heart
Your sight frozen nations
You shame the mighty
And shackle the boastful

You severed us and our beloved
Our emotion drawn after them
Their thought flashed our mind
Our bowels yearn after them

Who can appease you?
The rich gave their wealth
The religious offered sacrifice
But you keep enlarging your grave

Death the friend of man
In your womb there is life
You end life to give eternity
Death the beginning of the end
