Death's Butterfly Poem by Destry Miller

Death's Butterfly

For every fluttered wing
A soul is taken
She silently sings
Death's awaken
She flies far and long
Collecting the souls
Singing her silent song
Till her basket is full
Then she flies to the moon
Where she lets them go
Vowing to return soon
With plenty more souls
A song so quiet
Only the dead can here
Souls beckoned to it
With eyes full of tears
She is death's Butterfly
Pale as bone
Her sweet silent cry
Will lead us home

I like it. I was drawn to the title because I have a poem with a similar title, called 'Butterfly of Death'. I invite you to read it. Thanks.
