Death Of Love

As my mind wanders back
While I stand near the broken window pane,
A breath of fresh air
Touches and caresses my face.
I see your dreamy eyes,
Feel those whispers and tears,
As they blow my heart
And rip off my soul.
Sudden gushes of cold wind
Needles my skin
And I gaze at the dry flat rose,
Which still has your odour,
As the death of love
Is mourned once more.

Sad and gloomy as Death itself is. Imagery creates a grim ambiance and a dry flat rose is symbolic of death of love, a nice write. (Report) Reply

The death of love is mourned once more?
You mean love has been dead before?
You entrance me with your words.
I bet there is more to be heard.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Wonderful poem.

Poem of the Day

Friendship, as love, is but a name,
Save in a concentrated flame;
And thus, in friendships, who depend
On more than one, find not one friend.
