Death Notice Poem by Richard Noggin

Death Notice

My mind is cold, dark and damp
Growing mold where brain cells once use to grow.
I have no more thoughts or motivations.
I am a life without the will to live.
I see myself decay in the mirror every morning.
Wondering if I’ll live to see another day.
The promise of life is no more than
Just a happy memory
With the passing of each minute I thank God
For each breath taken in.
Knowing that at any second my life will cease.
Death is nearing my bedside.
Calling like a mother to her lost child
I can’t fight it any further.
Come and take this lifeless body of mine.
I surrender my dreams and desires and leave
Nothing but a poem to remember me by
