Death Is Real Poem by Nicole Rawls

Death Is Real

Death is real not a joke.
So why must
I keep myself
In a choke?

I popped the pills
Five at
A time. I see
The devil
So there’s my sign.
He takes
My hand and
Pulls me in.
This is not
My greatest sin.

Next thing I knew
I was in
A room where I
Couldn’t move.

I see my dad, I see
My mom and they are praying
Sad, sad song.

I open my eyes
And they were gone.
The next thing I
See is my
Lifeless body.
I just stair
And see the ugly.

I just slowly start
To fade away.
And wonder why
I chose to die
This way.
