Death Poem by Girija Menon

Death

Rating: 5.0

Once born death is apparent
A fact of life – it sure is not permanent
A journey to travel for one and all
Few live long, others get an early call

Its arrival unpredictable
No signal, no warning or timetable
Be prepared to surrender very possession
Its knock always without intimation

Illness with names too many
Strikes any time – that’s scary
Claims lives with no boundary
Best of medicines - never timely
Doctors on call - often too busy
Patient succumbs – virus too deadly

Accidents in many forms
Many freaky without norms
Crashes common but soon forgotten
Crimes committed in many patterns
Terror strikes turn by turn
Result- innocent lives targeted by guns

Life string of events
Good ones like presents
Bad ones one cannot prevent
Many humps and blocks make this pavement

Death a new beginning
entry to a beautiful world, about which we have no inkling
A world clean, pure and most healing
Fortunate are those who get the calling

Death not to be feared
Its a journey to the end
A prize that awaits you around the bend
from your creator apparent

Destination being one
Mode varies for everyone
Good deeds make this journey fun
Bad ones leave you to burn

Death a new beginning entry to a beautiful world, about which we have no inkling A world clean, pure and most healing Fortunate are those who get the calling... Welcoming death. Death as a destination. wonderful ideas.. of life and death and after life. Death is only a passing stage into the nether world where angels and saints live with the Almighty ONE.. wonderful meditation. thank you. tony

i don't actually think of the 'physical death' but I keep myself conscious so that i am sure that the morals, virtues, lessons, and characteristics which I have earned throughout the years will not die. anyway, nice write!
