Dear Mother Poem by Bharat Mehru

Dear Mother

Together were
we all
on that
bright morning
father-we children
and the home was
so dearly
Today-
the household
doesn't belong
to you really
but to your sons,
Daughters gone
sons separated
you are left
with the none
Though
you still get
father's consoling
caress
but only
in dream
when he comes
with a teary face
and untidy dress
every child has
good reasons
to leave
only you
doesn't care
the reasons
to love
Dear Mother,
Go inside
it's too cold
shut the door
stop watching
this empty
threshold...!
