i cried for you last night when i turned out the light
i saw your walls of pain

your sadness was mine for a moment in time
part of it will always remain

my wounds bled for you and my tears i shed for you
left stains upon my sheet

i heard your echoing wales over the hammering nails
and my heart felt your defeat

your clouds raided the skies and battled sunrise
so to never wake from this sleep

where you're free from your cage and you're free from this rage
and where affection is no longer cheap
