Dear Friend Poem by Danielle Mari Nidea

Dear Friend

People wonder why you're trapped
In a cage you made yourself.
But, senseless spirits, y'know they nap
Through the workings of one's self.

Dear friend, would it not be perhaps
Yourself that cage you within?
It's you yourself that so-well traps
Your legacies and whim.

For you and I both know so well
How dangerous you are
If all the world were to know and tell
Your parties at this hour.

I do not speak so carelessly
As to endanger all the race,
But I cannot watch you hopelessly
Just suffer through your case.

But a dog I am and a dog I'll be
To this world of roles and stuff.
I wish you luck and hope to see
You tomorrow, and that's enough.
