Dear Daddy Poem by Daniella Burke

Dear Daddy

Dear Daddy,

When we were together I tried out new things.
When we were together I wasn't afraid of anything.
When we were together I laughed all the time.
When we were together I would never shed a tear.
When we were together we went everywhere.
When we were together you always told me you loved me.
When we were together I always knew I loved you.
When we were together I thought my life was complete.
When we were together I thought you were perfect.
But that was when we were together.
You left me, and now a part of me is missing.
I can't stop crying, and I forgot how to laugh.
Did you really love me? Or is this just some game to you?
I guess you were perfect.
The perfect person to break me like this.

From, The Forgotten Daughter.
