Dear Daddy. Poem by Normal Girl Normal World

Dear Daddy.

Rating: 2.9

I always try my hardest,
You know that.
But sometimes my hardest,
Just isn't good enough for you.

I'm you and your me,
Same flesh same blood.
Part of each other,
Forever and always.

Your my Daddy,
And I'm your little princess.
Yet you still abuse me,
But claim you love me.

Sometimes I wish you weren't here,
But sometimes I wish you were.
Your my daddy and I love you loads.
And I'll be your little girl until the day I die.

Lots of love,
Your little angel.

As a Daddy myself, I am unable to fathom how anyone can even contemplate child abuse let alone carry it out. Your poem touches a nerve and shows how even under such conditions love can still exist. Even if it is not deserved. I always feel that the Christian commandment 'Honour thy father and mother' should have the extra line - If they earn it
