Deadbeat Dad Poem by tammy mcgrath

Deadbeat Dad

Why don't you want me daddy?
why don't you care?
How can I be mommies biggest blessing in your biggest nightmare?
I'll be so good for you daddy, I'll hug you every day,
I'll walk like you and talk like you, and love you more than you'll ever know.
I'll tell the whole world my daddy's the greatest, and be the apple of your eye.
I don't want much from you daddy, just to be your pride and joy.
To be protected and held and loved by you daddy, so I can grow big and smart and strong.
And my biggest goal in life will be just to make you proud.
Please don't leave me daddy, before I have a chance,
to fill your eyes with pride n joy,
your heart with warmth and love,
and your world with purpose and meaning.
Please don't let me grow up in a world of loneliness and despair, spending everyday of my life wondering why you never loved me back, wondering why you were never there......
