Dead Poet Getting Stronger Poem by Coen Carter

Dead Poet Getting Stronger

She comes in shadows light when I have no
Protection
Dead poets taking flight in mirrored life’s
Reflection
The shattered silence moment as I begin to
Wake
The dark ship journey provides no life only one to
Take
Souls lay dormant: drowning in endless mountain
Clouds
While fire burns in the hearts of those whose silence grew too
Loud
Her raspy broken voice slowly reels them
In
Intoxicating with her tone she’s slowly killing
Him
Intriguing yet disturbing you want to stay a little
Longer
So while you lay there dying the dead poets getting
Stronger
And when your life’s been taken and your body’s in the
Hearse
From one soul to another that’s Pandora’s
Curse.
