Dead On The Snow Poem by Peter Princeton

Dead On The Snow

I knew I should have walked away
When your cold darkness came in my way
You've killed my hopes and gone like smokes
Now I'm dead on the snow
Alone and cold

Why didn't I hear the warning cries
Of my doubting heart when you walked to me
Why did I give my everything, like a crumbling wall
Just to end up being empty

I should have ran as fast as I could
But it's all too late, now I'm trapped in you
You've killed my hopes and gone like smokes
Now I'm dead on the snow
Alone and cold
