I’ve been here before
I’ve seen this place
I have met some of these people
I have run this same race
I have won many times
I live for crossing the finish line
When I compete
And get down on my knees
When I assume my position
In my mind I have only one mission
Succeeding
Being number one
And when that day arrives
THAN and only than will my job be done
Hearing that gun
Causing my adrenaline to pump
Causing it to flow
Is almost what I look forward to hearing most
I’ve been here at some point in the past
I’ve been ranked
I’ve done the math
I have come in second third and even last
But that failure was never able to last
And I was always able to rise above
Mr. track and field..
YOU are and always will be my first love
