Daydreams (I) Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Daydreams (I)

The mind wanders off into another plane of existence
still awake, your body falls into a slumber like trance
where there's not much of a resistance
entirely surrendering as thoughts invade you by chance
I just love the way my mind put a vision together,
because it were like the sun on top the ocean as you lay in the sand feeling the summer breeze
living out these fantasies puts your mind at ease
being more than just a substitute for an unpleasant reality
any act I performed would first be conceived in my imagination
rather than suppressing the instinct to react I allowed myself to behave naturally
being fairly in control of what I do and what i say in this game of flirtation
