'Daydream's Lunacy' Poem by Katherine York

'Daydream's Lunacy'

If life, toward me was kind,
I would enfold me inside of my own mind.
Walk on the inside of my daydreams;
And never walk out...of them again.
Is it possible to crawl so far inside;
In daydreams I could forever abide?
To dwell forever...in the fantasy,
Of a life my mind...made for me.

So many days...I just drift away;
Never wanting to come back...and stay.
Lock my heart away...in love's bliss;
Forever in the arms of...the one I miss.
If I were to crawl...all of the way in...
Would I have to return to earth again?
If I was totally locked...inside of me;
Is that the state of mind...called lunacy?

God please let me crawl inside of my mind;
Inside of my daydreams, where life is kind.
And stay where love and happiness dwell,
For in my dreams...You abide as well.
To just crawl inside of my own mind and lay;
Never to return to this earth... to stay.
Locked away forever- -in complete lunacy;
That my mind created...to rescue me.
