Daydream Poem by Johan van wyk

Daydream

Lost in thought, beyond space and time
I hear your voice and I wonder, why
Your image is reflected on the edges of my soul
Why they continue to shine as the light begins to fall

I'm stuck in a daydream, awake but not so
Dreaming sweet dreams of smiles that can’t go
For that smile hold the secret between life and death
Taking happiness unconsciously until there's nothing left

So before you know it you’ll be left in a daze
Naive and uncertain like a common knave
But all you’ll remember is the green of her eyes
Holding your own as she fills you with lies

In the end you’ll wake up and realize you were wrong
Realize you’re the musician and she, the girl from your song.
