Day Room Day Out Poem by Matt Mooney

Day Room Day Out

A never ending winter passed away
and there came a day
when patio doors were opened wide
and all the patients brought outside
wearing straw hats and sitting around
and there were daisies on the women's ones
out in the veranda on Whit Sunday
light breezes playing in the sun
some read some slept caught in a dream
one with nature on a languorous afternoon.
