Day Of Mourn (Maguindanao Massacre) Poem by Catrina Heart

Day Of Mourn (Maguindanao Massacre)

Rating: 5.0

11/26
The sun rose early behind the mountains
But never shone its rays on the face of the grieving
Darkness cloaked the land below my feet
Shaken the world with great terror and anguish

11/26
It’s a morn of mourning; a date of grieving
A day to unite and pray, for the departed victims
Come! Join us…… simultaneously, we shall light a candle
Come! Join us……. in unison we shall utter a moment of prayer

Let the candle’s wick burn until justice is serve
Let the grieving souls find tranquility on their grave
Let us all pray for JUSTICE name
Let us all pray and stop this demonic game

Come! Join us…..light a candle for this mournful day
Pray for the victims and make the perpetuators pay

Once again you have penned a timely and memorable write, Catrina. I heard of this horrible massacre on the news when they spoke of finding all those bodies of many clearly innocent victims. It is sad to realize there are cruel people in the world who would do such a horrible thing. Your poem is a beautiful tribute to those victims and may inspire people to insist that justice be done, the perpetrators found and identified, and eventually pay for their terrible crimes against humanity. You have written an exceptional poem. Carl.

Such brutal massacre indicates the man's foolishness and selfishness only.

together we shed tears together we mourn together we hope...hope it never happened... such a very heart-quenching act....barbaric, inhuman i don't know....but really heart-breaking.. esp...a lawyer who was once depending our family....was a victim too... a very smart, kind, and a brilliant and human rights lawyer to Atty.Coney J. Brizuela..we wonder why you reach there until we know you did it for love, for brotherhood. we will miss you...my tears ignite me to write this piece 'A HEART OF A CHILD' to all the victims..May you all rest in peace.....with Allah, with our God 10+++++++ Lovelots, Maia

I sit with my head bowed, and a tear on my cheek. Lest we forget.

Was going to send you my condolences, Catrina, on the awful, monstrosities in your homecountry. This poem says it all - we grieve, and we pray for the faithful departed. Ever and ever more, evil urges us to be better and better. Let us rise to the challenege. mark
