Day Dream Poem by Ann Mckeeman

Day Dream

leathery, thick skinned
moving deliberately
across the verdant face of Gaia

aligned to Earth and Sky
to wind, rain...growth
cycling, circling...

living, surviving, reproducing

did we grasp
the slippery sweet ever widening spiral of simplicity-
the layered, fleshy textured , multiplicity of Existence

could we sense in that now
the deepening frailty of All

with claws dug firmly into black soil
we gazed upward

at the setting Sun

watching the celestial dance of eternity
as the Stars chose their partners
each pairing and parting splayed brilliantly upon the inky canvas

faces reflected in the shimmering
fertile undulating surface of crystalline Pleroma

bodies cast off back to the planet...
nutrient rich, memory filled minute flotsam and jetsam redistributed and rebirthed

Wondering...
would we
remember awareness
of when we were dinosaurs...
