Day By Day Poem by Zane Lewis

Day By Day

It'll never be the same
I'll never hear your name
I think about you more and more
Sometimes it's only a dropp sometimes its a pour

It came without warning
I'll never forget that morning
Their was no prep
No way to get ready for that step

There was only your friend is gone
Don't cry just move on
You were the best
You werent like the rest

I told you all my mystery
You knew every bit of my history
You taught me everything I know
you always put on the best show

We were as thick as thieves back then
That was all in the past I can't have that again
Now your not here
As I stare in the mirror

I want you standing beside me
But there's nothing so I let it be
How did I miss the pain you never show
it all came to me in one mighty blow

You took the greatest treasure I ever had
You were closer to me than my own dad
Then you took your own life
Now mine feels it with a knife

I'm broken and beat
This time there isn't getting back on my feet
The hardest thing I ever watched end
Was the life of my closest friend
