Dawn’s Not Next To Night Poem by Jake Tadla

Dawn’s Not Next To Night

Amidst the room’s darkness
Eyelids force me to dream.
But sleep fairy’s not on route
Even during the wee hours.

Instead of a good night sleep
With snores I can’t deny
I had daydreaming
Even if it’s not day, but night.

The main character would always be you,
I don’t know why.
Maybe because you’re special,
Or maybe someone more.

Night’s throne is ended
But tonight, nothing’s next to it.
But, definitely, today’s a new day;
Another morning that came from dawn.

You’re still my dream
And will be retained forever.
More mornings to come ‘till exhausted
And I don’t know when I’ll wake up;
Or if I’ll wake up in one of them.
Not until my alarm clock’s loud enough.
