Dawn Of New Life Poem by Paul Sebastian

Dawn Of New Life

Rating: 4.5

Like a wet, wounded animal he stood
Under the street lamp, shivering cold
Looking for a shelter that foggy night
Doors closed, no place was in sight

Moon-lit wet pavement glittered
In night's stillness, no footsteps heard
Hungry, in pain shaking in the cold
Loneliness gripped, silent tears flowed

Reminisced into past life's journey
Recounted the happy moments
Love given to friends generously
Memories of cherished moments

He told himself then and there:

I mustn't give in; lesson-taught a new way
Vowed to move on to make brighter days
Soon it would dawn, beginning a new day
The sun will shine on me its golden rays

Life's new page's opening
For new life scripting
I must tread carefully
This new life for His glory
