Dawn Poem by Violetta Sunshine

Dawn

Rating: 5.0

The sweet singing of the birds,
The friendly rustling of the trees,
The crisp freshness of the air,
The gentle stillness in the atmosphere,
The emergence of the golden sun,
Amidst the volcano coloured sky,

But inside I lay lifelessly,
On my groggy, sluggish bed,
In the darkness of my room,
The curtains blocking all light,
And concealing the natural beauty,
The windows shutting out the melody,

It pains me to know I have missed so much,
The real jewels of this world,
And the true richness of life,
But today is another day,
Another chance to watch and learn,
The magnificence of God's design.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is about how many of us(including me) miss out on the enchantment and beauty of nature, especially in the morning. I am hoping to be an early riser and benefit from the energies of the morning. An early start is always a better start and will improve your life!
