Darkness And Light Poem by Tim Vallie

Darkness And Light

When the rivers run red with blood
And their shores are lined in bone
When the darkness comes like a flood
Then a dead man will sit on the throne
He will reign for years without a word
He will leave the world to die
To remake the world, dead and burned
For the sins of you and I
Not a ray of hope shall shine
No hero shall rise to fight
The world will remain malign
Til' the lifting of Death's long night

For one thousand year's years shall darkness reign
For this thousand year's all life shall live in pain
Til' the world is all but ash and dust
Drained of life, punished for man's lust
Then shall emerge one seed of light
The beginning of a war to lift the night
This seed shall mark a hero's birth
This hero shall rise to conquer the earth
The war will rage for one thousand years
A war fought between mans' hopes and fears
Til' balance is restored between the day and the night
Til' the darkness coexists with the light
Then light shall rule during the day
Til' darkness pushes light away
Until the sun returns the light
And comes again to lift the night

This is the balance of darkness and light
This is the story of day and night
Unbalanced they'll be for thousands of years
This will bring war, and darkness and fear
The sun born of light, the moon made of bone
The sky is their eternal throne
The share our world in day and night
Provide the balance of dark and light
The world cannot live with an unbalanced scale
So heed my words for this is no mere tale

When the rivers run red with blood
And the darkness comes like a flood
When the world is all but ash and bone
And a dead man sits upon the throne
A seed of hope will lift Death's night
A hero will rise to begin this fight
To restore the balance of the dark and the light
They will share the throne, one by day one by night
This is the tale of our world to be
They shall rule eternal over you and me
But their holy war shall never end
Upon these words you can depend

This is the story of darkness and light
This is the birth of the day and the night.
