Darkness Poem by Tarakesh Govardhan

Darkness

Rating: 5.0

It's me, myself and I
Standing by a corner
Darkness surrounding
And encompassing

Feeble attempts at normalcy
Failing efforts making a mockery
Of the pain suffered in silence, showing
The Void that occupies my chest

Dead emotions failing to affect
Like the rotten fruits in a basket
Corrupting all else around it
Losing everything to the void

Mask fitted perfectly, obscures
The vision, once perfect,
Now is filled with naught but darkness
A future too bleak to look at

Soul laden with sins
Noxious in nature, innocent in act
Never to see the light
Never to see peace

Is me myself and I
Alone in the corner
Been here for an eternity
Fated here for more
