Darkness Poem by Jeremy Rodgers

Darkness

Rating: 5.0

Darkness falls down like a net
smothering those who've lost their breath
taking away their fading time
covering up their daylight
lying about what is right
because they can't believe
hearts hardened like the stones
carve out our broken bones
because they've been deceived
you tell them a thousand times
give them a million reasons why
and still they won't believe
everybody's made for a purpose
the clay is formed into many things
some are saved in reservation
for the day of destruction
yes, some are made for evil
but the darkness will never win
everyone has the chance to turn from sin
everyone has the chance to stop giving in
and that can never be taken
the Devil's always ratting on us
saying, 'oh, look what they've done! '
we've got enemies everywhere
but we fight for the one who cares
and God is not divided
the Devil can never love
the father of so many lies
knows these are the end of times
and so he tries, he really tries
to cover up our daylight
but we can only trust God
because His Word is our Sword
and there's so much they've covered up
so much evil that they've done
because that's what's inside people
and it's not His fault if they don't believe
everyone has the chance to be free
and they can never take our daylight
they can burn us and we'll sing while we die
the Word of God will never die
they don't believe us, but they believe the lies
you can't see daylight with blinded eyes
pay money to have somebody else die
come on people, this is our fight!
the Beast is coming with a fake light
so how can we survive
if we cover up our daylight?
You know, sometimes we have to die
saints by soldiers who they call saints
to give them a chance to change their ways
but they just burn us at the stake
but that's okay, that's okay
our job is to show daylight
to the blinded eyes
so when at the throne they stand
He'll just say, 'You had your chance,
didn't I give you daylight? '
