Darkness Poem by Nirmal Kumar Thapa

Darkness

Rating: 4.5

Darkness, arrived
Without a moon shine,
Stars hidden under the thick murky clouds;
Everything is so disappearing,
The scintillating mountains, the birds
And my own body leaving its shadow,
The night was quiet, with a gloomy silence;
Hardly a soft wind, can be felt within,
I couldn't even ground myself in echoes
Seems to be floating in limpidness,
With an abstract blackness;
And black mirror of the past
My eyes are still,
Where I thought the past was!
My ears awake with warmth- of a wave
Signifying a far- yelling
I couldn't imagine lasting, through the night
My ears remained conscious and
I heard a repeated knocking hum;
Educing from the other end of the sky,
Listening to a wit sounds of myth
And preserving,
The eternity of blackness,
Barely a qualm is swinging;
Oh! equating with my past soul love.
