Darkest Hour Poem by Richard De La Cruz

Darkest Hour

Time flies as
it has invisible wings
I wish to enter
a portal that take
my soul to a
lost journey
for once
conflicts are long gone
but what happen
when the poor man
tries to
succumb to a lavish life
poverty will
always have its answer
like a tall man
always above others

I wish to know
more than I can
but can my
mind surpass
an infinite of knowledge
question that
are feeble
inflict us
to ruinous experiences

Have you ever
imagine how the end
will attract us
like a predator
attracted to
its prey

The sweet symphony
astray us
to the concentrated state
where the days
don't seem somber
I just want a individual
to understand
my reasons
but how is that possible
when everybody is dead

The mad man
brought a silence
the world is
a nest filled with eaten birds
the drugs, the love, the hate
the envious, the bad and the good
took me away
let me quiescent
into my perpetual death
I wish no return
let me sink
like a broken ship
