Dark Thoughts Poem by Valsa George

Dark Thoughts

Rating: 4.1

At times, our heart becomes
A labyrinth of dark thoughts
Letting no rays of hope in
Making our world seem a wilderness
Tangled with nettles and brambles
The road we travel may appear circuitous
Taking us nowhere, leaving us fatigued
Sometimes weariness sets in
Like molten lead into our brain
Sending out smoke and heat
Like an overheated pan
Even the drops of consoling words
Instantly evaporate with a hiss
Causing scalding and burning!

Since there is an equal and opposite reaction to every action as proved by science and every night is followed by a new and refreshing dawn, dark thoughts occupying one's mind at some time will have to make an exit for giving room to the joyful bright thoughts. There is no space for pessimism in a vibrant mind. Thanks.

So very true... sometimes, our thoughts seem to be our master, yet being aware of them; we can inverse the roles and become their master. A thoughtful write!

Dark thoughts are inevitable. It is nice to know that it is a common occurrence. They will evaporate eventually and we then get into a normal routine. We need to search for ways to get out of such a condition as soon as possible. The problem is beautifully put in the poem.

Dark thoughts constricts and suffocates and as you have rightly noted even consoling words sometimes fail to impress. A beautiful write.

Darkness can overcome us at times, when it controls us seeping into every crevice of our mind, making war with our emotions. We reach out to our dearest ones for support and help to overcome this shadow world! Brilliant, insightful write!

Thoughtful and introspective. Warding off those dark thoughts is a tough as well as rewarding fight. All of us can relate to it.
