Dark Night Poem by Jessie Jett

Dark Night

Resilience my friend.
At best,
Lay near death.
Once came, risen from the sky.
Then gone, once again, dark night.
Did they teach you how to live?
Did they teach you how to survive?
Resilence my friend.
Lay near death.
Wait, never understanding why.
Once came, risen from the sky.
Then gone, once again, dark night.
Beyond they valley, past snarls and rage.
Can you see who is locked in that cage?
Ridden by fear.
Stumble into the black night.
In my resilience, I find you here.
Lay near death.
Proudly you cry.
Once came, risen from the sky.
Then gone, once again, dark night.
