Dark And Distant Storms Poem by Eric Paeplow

Dark And Distant Storms

Come sit here beside me,
let me stroke your silken hair
Let me tell you all those things,
you so desperately, long to hear

As I look into your eyes,
and swim in their depths,
so soulful, so deep
Pathways to your soul,
with all its sorrows,
hopes and dreams

Let me pull you closer
and whisper the words,
softly in your ear
And tell you
just how much you mean to me
and just how much I care

So rest your head upon me
and let me take away your pain
Let me replace your demons,
with the sunshine summer's rain

Breathe in deeply
and let it fill your senses,
with its fragrant smell
And fill your soul with its serenity,
as though the breath of angels

Let me hold you close,
feel my heartbeat
and melt into my arms
As I chase away
your childhood demons
and keep you safe from harm

And do my best
to help you replace,
your fears, regrets and hate,
with love

So you can at last,
live out loud,
forever free,
from dark and distant storms
