Dark Ages
- - - - - -
The aroma of hell prevailed,
smoking through porous ground,
lilting towards the surface in a most ambiguous way.

In accordance with creation,
As far as man can seed,
An archangel secretes his awe before the holy see.

Thunderstruck with lust,
Lilith makes a claim today,
screeching as a preying owl,
from the depths of the abyssal sea..

Wandering about her sexton,
vexing Solomon's men,
she lures them towards an abatis,
embedded in Adams hand.

For she was to obey,
father in paradise,
As the master of the fifth heaven,
Samael was her demise.

Forged out of chains,
from Hades did he storm,
firmly holding Abraham wrist with a sword,
a wedding gift of betrothal to Persephone.

Succulent pomegranate seeds for red wine,
quench her thirst for a thralling beast divine.
Back to Nysa she trellises on,
bringing harvest to the barren winter land.

Aspects of sadness and mourning begone,
yet some glittered in the early sun,
for darkeness ages,
and prophecy overcomes,
The words of Isaiah,
one by one.

For you will be called to act upon,
with a just saddle and a wrongful arm,
stay with your ass till the worships done,
And pray for Job as long as you can.

At the Binding of Issac,
you gathered thy wood,
pleading to heaven with a sailing eye,
diffidence was answered,
by the heavenly court,
conceived from a falling star.

So let the eternal light shine on!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I'm sitting at churchill's bar drinking their finest wine. Probably aged in aromatic test tubes fermented with the bubonic plague.
Then I laid eyes on Ryly. A child of the evening star, her tatooed anchor called my name, to the safe harbour of her arm.
I asked if she was a mariner? To which she responded with a good willed voice.
'I am a sailor! '
Suddenly I felt home again.
And so I dedicate this poem December 6th,2013 for Ryly, a believer of hope, a dancer in the darkness bringing forth the light.
In memory of the day Meredith Hunter is killed by Hells Angels during a Rolling Stones concert at the Altamont Speedway in California 1969....
