Damn, How I Miss You Poem by Casey Gochnour

Damn, How I Miss You

Oh, how you're always on my mind,
Odd since our daily lives seem rarely intertwined.
While we're home, off on our own,
Often feeling so damn alone.

Without you here, just wishing you near,
Always trusting, lacking fear,
But damn, you just seem so far,
Just out of reach, you're the brightest star.

I miss your voice, I miss your laugh,
It just seems I'm without my other half.
I miss the way you talk, your special words,
Your banter, your sarcasm, when you call me nerd.

You get me, I get you,
I love our connections through everything we do.
I know I make it obvious, you don't even need a clue,
Damn, I really miss you.

I love how you just know how I feel,
Or when I'm about to make a bad joke reel.
I love the way you say my name,
From anyone else it doesn't sound the same.

Damn, it's just… you're always on my mind,
It happened even before that contract you signed.
When we were here at my home, not off on our own,
And damn, how we jumped into the unknown.

You were hesitant, I remember, but I pushed you on,
That fucking magical time in my so lavish apartment.
Damn, do I miss you… how I loved that day,
And right now I feel I can only write.

To revisit those memories, wow were you beautiful,
I was at your mercy, I was a lover's fool.
There was no other choice, it had to be you,
Damn, now look what we got into,

Constant love, solid trust,
Unconditional passion; lust.
I'm all yours, Hannah, and you know,
Damn, baby, how I miss you so.
