Dahlias Poem by Mark Heathcote

Dahlias

Rating: 5.0

Lord, what a view, what a panorama
Stretches before my eyes - miraculous
Fighting through woody hazels to dahlia
Windblown, tumbling, bonny romanticists
Who soothes their way to my heart's watery?
Fat-green stems like-some kind of makeshift stars
These tangibles are the kind of sorcery
You can touch like golden avatars
Boarded-up drop petals like burning shards.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

Mark, i feel so good to read this poem on Dahlias. Generally, poems are written on roses. Rose is considered to be the most romantic flower. But Dahlias too are beautiful and exotic. Wish you had put a picture too. May be you can still add one. Lovely poem. I particularly liked the line You can touch like golden avatars Happy to give a full vote for the Dahlias.
